In keeping with our holiday fundraising tradition, we will host a special exhibit benefiting Art in a Box. Art in a Box partners with communities in need, assisting them in recovery and empowerment through art and education. Every year, Art in a Box presents a one-night exhibit/sale at Cheryl Pelavin Fine Art gallery in New York City. This year Pearson will host an additional exhibit of donated work and you can be a part of this exciting event! All are invited to submit artwork for this special show. All media 11" x 14" (including frame) and smaller is accepted. Choose to exhibit in New York, White Plains, or both. Work from both galleries will also be available for sale online.
If you—or someone you know—would like to donate artwork to help Art in a Box help children around the world, please e-mail a 72 dpi jpg image by Monday, November 16 to Artpartners@aol.com. Make sure to include the title, media, dimensions, and which exhibit you wish your image(s) to be part of (Pearson, Cheryl Pelavin Gallery in New York, or both.) This image will be part of the on-line gallery. If you have a question, call: 212.691.2543.
Delivery of art for Cheryl Pelavin show in New York City is 11/21/09. Reception and exhibit is Thursday 12/3/09. Unsold work will travel to Pearson unless other arrangements made.
Delivery of art for Pearson show in White Plains is 12/7/09. Opening reception Thursday 12/10/09. Exhibit will be until 2/1/10.
Please see http://www.artinabox.org/Home.htm for more info about the shows and what Art in a Box does.
In addition to the donated artwork, our show will feature art by Cambodian children and handcrafted gifts by Cambodian women and girls. All works will be for sale and all proceeds will support programs for at-risk children around the world.
